My Creamy Coleslaw Dressing with Barbecue Sauce is a nice twist on the traditional coleslaw. The barbecue sauce gives the slaw a little kick!
This slaw has a zip and zing to it. That is why I decided to make it. My husband is not a fan of slaw, so we don’t have it all that often. The only slaw he really likes is the slaw from KFC. I have tried many different recipes over the years, to no avail. He tends to like things on the spicy side, so I thought this might be something he would enjoy.
Creamy Coleslaw Dressing with Barbecue Sauce
This is such an easy recipe. I am really concentrating on the dressing here. You make the slaw the way you like it. The dressing only has two ingredients in it–barbecue sauce and Margzetti’s slaw dressing. You can make your slaw with a head of cabbage, carrots, celery, red cabbage and any other ingredients you like. Or you can do as I have done here and buy the packaged slaw mix. The only thing I do to this slaw mix is run it through my food processor in order to make it a little finer. But you make it the way you like.
Slaw before adding the dressing:
I am still on a mission to find the perfect slaw that my husband loves. I think the issue is that he really doesn’t care for cabbage, so slaw is a hard sell. Still looking for a side with a twist? Try my Mediterranean Pasta Salad Made with Red Wine. Since I mentioned KFC coleslaw, here is a link from the blog Dinner Then Dessert for KFC Coleslaw (Copycat).

This recipe really concentrates on the dressing which has a little kick and a punch!
- 1 pound package coleslaw mix
- 1/2 cup coleslaw dressing
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
Start with 1 pound of coleslaw. Either make your own out of cabbage, carrots, red cabbage, celery, etc. or buy a package at the store as I did. I whirled mine in the food processor just a bit to make it finer.
Combine the slaw dressing and barbecue sauce and add to the slaw. Salt and pepper to taste and refrigerate until ready to serve
