IT SEEMS I ALWAYS NEED A BAG IN MY BACKYARD. I’M EITHER PICK UP AFTER MY DOG OR I HAVE PLANT CLIPPING TO DISPOSE OF. NOW I HAVE A HANDY BAG HOLDER RIGHT THERE.
Plush Craft: Bag Holder
My dog loves to do her business on my sidewalk. I know, that’s gross. But she does not like to get her feet wet, and since we have had so much rain lately, she just goes on the sidewalk. Well, I have come up with the perfect solution with my Plush Craft: Bag Holder.
This DIY/craft project could not be easier because I used a pillow that I already had. I opened up a seam along the edge and took the stuffing out which I disposed of but you could actually recycle this for another project. As you can see from the image, the supplies needed for this project are pretty basic. One item that you might find useful that I did not have in the image is a seam ripper. This makes opening up the seam much easier. You will also need scissors, needle and thread, a hanger ribbon, and bags for stuffing.
Open up a seam a few inches long and remove the stuffing from the pillow. HINT: You might want to open the seam along the top because that is where you will need to insert the hanging ribbon.
Insert your hanging ribbon in the top and carefully sew this in. You will only want to make the hanging ribbon a few inches long. It would be helpful if you know where you will hang it and from what you will be hanging it.
Carefully open up the area where you want the bags to come out of. Mine are coming out below the mouth area. The smile was actually an applique that had a reinforced seam around it. So I did not need to sew that edge, but I did fold under the bottom edge under the smile and hand stitched it to reinforce the area.
Fill with shopping bags, newspaper bags or doggie disposal bags.
If you need a creative way to store disposable bags, Plush Craft: Bag Holder has you covered. For another craft project, check out my post on how to Create the Best Solar Garden Lights.
